I had an unpleasant experience when I sat in my sea kayak for the first time in 2 years. The boat was too long. My paddle was too long and straight...blades too small. Outfitting was loose and who took my edges? It just didn't feel right. Sunday afternoon I hooked up with Burgess, Dave, Nick and Roger to paddle the Lower. The level was the lowest I have paddled it. I still used my creeker. With the level this low I was sideways down the tounge...my usual angle of decent on that drop. Rocks were sticking up all over and I did Twisted Sister sideways after getting spun on a rock starting into it. No flips though but I came to the conclusion that my creeker was definately too big for the water that day.
First kayak too big..second kayak too big...I had already decided I needed to go smaller on my third kayak, my play boat...nothing seemed to fit soooooo can you guess what I did today????? Yeah that's a no brainer..All Star on it's way! Whoo Hoo! It was good to paddle with the Duluth people again!
When I returned to my campsite Sunday night I found I had some nice wood waiting for me.

Did I read that right? Did you order a Jackson All Star?
Yep you read that right. Hey I am a woman and when things just don't fit the only thing to do is go shopping ;-)
Wow, congrats on the new boat! You're quick! :)
Thanks Alex! Actually I made the decision to buy a new boat this spring...I just didn't figure it'd be until fall or winter when I'd get one. It'll be here next week!!!
